First inter-union workshop on the Handling of Chemical Substances organized with the national union PIT-CNT
The seminar was attended by unionists from all over the country representing different fields of activity: workers from the leather, metal, chemical, textile, paper and graphic sectors, etc. Representatives of NGOs, the Occupational Health Departments of the Republic University and the Ministries of Health and the Environment also participated. Unionists with experience in occupational health issues drew up and presented to the plenary a training proposal to be implemented nationally by the PIT-CNT and its affiliates.

More than 60 occupational health and safety delegates attended from all over the country representing different sectors.
From August 6-8, more than 60 trade unionists participated in the “First Trade Union Workshop on the Safe Handling of Chemicals”, in Montevideo, Uruguay, organized by PIT-CNT – the National Trade Union Centre of Uruguay, with the support of Sustainlabour.
The decision was adopted in response to EU Commission consultation on unconventional fossil fuels in Europe
