Rio+20 preparations: negotiations on the outcome document

Place: New York, United States

Dates: March 19-23, 2012

The so-called informal discussion on Rio+20 began on Monday, March 19. Sustainlabour will be following the government negotiations awaiting as a result a responsible text that is adapted to the challenges in terms of ambition as well as concrete commitments.

Five days of negotiations lie ahead based on a text that has increased by 10 fold following the comments it has received. Civil society´s presence and participation in the negotiations ahead of Rio are fundamental to ensure the transparency of the process. Unfortunately, we do not have the possibility to intervene in these informal sessions.

On Friday, March 23, 2012 Sustainlabour will organize a joint side event along with Vitae Civilis and Oxfam. More information is available below
