Trade union campaign on Pesticides

Where: Dominican Republic and El Salvador

Exposure to pesticides is one of the main occupational risks in all the world. According to PAHO, in Latin America about 30% of occupational deaths are in the agricultural sector, most of them due to the exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Campaign: prevention of Chemical Risk at workplaces

In the Dominican Republic, the CASC has undertaken awareness raising actions with trade union representatives to sensitize workers and promote trade union action for prevention of chemical risks in the workplace.

Biodiversity and Employment: side event at COP 11 of Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD)

On Friday October 19 2012, Sustainlabour organizes an event at COP 11 of CBD to present the new report published together with the ITUC entitled Ecosystems, Economy and Employment. Representatives of Ecoropa and governments of India, Spain and Brazil will participate in the event.
