Sustainlabour integrated the trade union delegation at the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) in New York. The meeting focused on reviewing the Johannesburg Plan if Implementation (JPOI) on the following themes: Energy for sustainable development, Industrial Development, Climate Change and Air Pollution.
The delegation obtained the agreement of governments to include employment transition, worker training & education, occupational health & safety, worker participation and ILO core labour standards on the list for discussions to take place in 2007, along with corporate responsibility and the role of the public sector and government.
