Sustainlabour, jointly with the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and other Industries has initiated a project to facilitate the implementation of SAICM with trade union organizations in Brazil, Chile and Uruguay. SAICM means Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Managenent: its goal, ensure that by the year 2020, chemicales will be produced and uses in ways that minimize significal adverse impacts on the environment and human health.
