Trade Union participation at COP3 – May 2007

Sustainlabour participated as part of the Trade Union delegation at the Third Conference of the Parties of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (COP) that took place in Dakar (Senegal) from the 30th April 30 to 4th May.
 
POPs are very toxic chemical substances, persistent in the environment and bio-accumulate through the food web. They do not degraded easily in the environment and they accumulate in body tissues, and pose a serious risk of causing adverse effects to human health and the environment.
